    Self-Diagnosis Result...

Went to Borders bookstore today to search for relevant books to make more sense of my condition...

Found from the book "Depressed & Anxious" by Thomas Marra, 2004...

    Quoting from the book:
Depression is when it takes energy to just move. You've lost your initiative, your ability & willingness to engage in activities. You want to do these things to fulfill your responsibilities, but it takes such tremendous effort. It's as if you're moving through thick mud just to be mobile, just to get things done that previously little energy or effort. And the effort it takes now just to live, just to do the basic chores and tasks of life, requires so much more energy than ever before. But that's not all. In addition to feeling depressed, you also feel anxious. You question your every move: Maybe something bad will happen. Maybe you'll miss something important. Your muscles tighten up like some catastrophe is about to happen. You have no energy to do things, but seemingly boundless endless energy to feel panic, dread, negative anticipation about the future, and the sense that your world as you previously knew it has changed.
If the above description fits you, then you are experiencing what is termed as Mixed Anxiety & Depression.

I have not get out of it... but i need to... but i also dun wanna be trapped in the 'fear of the fear'...

To know about about such condition, read more from here...
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." [1 John 4:18]

    Tough Times...

Lord, please help me get through this....
God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
    Selah

    [Psalm 46:1-3]

    Dragon Ball revisited...

    (taken from here)

Recently have the desire of re-reading the comic of Dragon Ball Z, initially just wanna read some of the individual exciting episodes, but end off got 'hook' to watch the series instead... Haha... (and it usually happens for any comics or series book I re-read!)

Despite knowing the story inside-out, but it never fail to entertain me... Haha...

孙悟空 is still the best!! Yey... Realised that his spirit of wanting to always train to become better, to excel his own current level is inspiring...

Me too yearns to have breakthroughs! 我也想突破自己的极限,变成超级赛亚人!! =)

If only I have 仙豆 to recover my strength each time... haha... but i have Christ in me!

    Yet another personality test...

    Your personality type is INFP.

    Introverted (I) 61% Extraverted (E) 39%
    Intuitive (N) 64% Sensing (S) 36%
    Feeling (F) 80% Thinking (T) 20%
    Perceiving (P) 64% Judging (J) 36%

INFPs never seem to lose their sense of wonder. One might say they see life through rose-colored glasses. It's as though they live at the edge of a looking-glass world where mundane objects come to life, where flora and fauna take on near-human qualities.

INFP children often exhibit this in a 'Calvin and Hobbes' fashion, switching from reality to fantasy and back again. With few exceptions, it is the NF child who readily develops imaginary playmates (as with Anne of Green Gables's "bookcase girlfriend"--her own reflection) and whose stuffed animals come to life like the Velveteen Rabbit and the Skin Horse:

"...Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand..." (the Skin Horse)

INFPs have the ability to see good in almost anyone or anything. Even for the most unlovable the INFP is wont to have pity.

    Rest you, my enemy,
    Slain without fault,
    Life smacks but tastelessly
    Lacking your salt!
Stuck in a bog whence naught
    May catapult me,
    Come from the grave, long-sought,
    Come and insult me!
--(Steven Vincent Benet, Elegy for an Enemy)

Their extreme depth of feeling is often hidden, even from themselves, until circumstances evoke an impassioned response:

"I say, Queequeg! Why don't you speak? It's I--Ishmael." But all remained still as before. ... Something must have happened. Apoplexy!
... And running up after me, she caught me as I was again trying to force open the door. ... "Have to burst it open," said I, and was running down the entry a little, for a good start, when the landlady caught me, again vowing I should not break down her premises; but I tore from her, and with a sudden bodily rush dashed myself full against the mark.--(Melville, Moby Dick)

Of course, not all of life is rosy, and INFPs are not exempt from the same disappointments and frustrations common to humanity. As INTPs tend to have a sense of failed competence, INFPs struggle with the issue of their own ethical perfection, e.g., perfo rmance of duty for the greater cause. An INFP friend describes the inner conflict as not good versus bad, but on a grand scale, Good vs. Evil. Luke Skywalker in Star Wars depicts this conflict in his struggle between the two sides of "The Force." Although the dark side must be reckoned with, the INFP believes that good ultimately triumphs.

Some INFPs have a gift for taking technical information and putting it into layman's terms. Brendan Kehoe's Zen and the Art of the Internet is one example of this "de-jargoning" talent in action.

Short Term Mission trip to Hope Ipoh... [280208-020308]

Yes... I am back from my 1st short term mission trip! =)

And because I was appointed to be the photographer of this trip, I managed to borrow the digital camera from my sis-in-law & took down quite a no. of photos... But I must say I am not experienced in taking candid shots, whereby people do not notice about you taking their pictures... Haha... It's a skill to master to be a decent photographer...

I shall describe more about what happened during the trip with the photos I have uploaded ba...

    DAY 1

This is the 8 of us who went for this trip, namely Wenjiang, Manmi, Ruixia, Yenling, Xingni, Hongyao, myself & Yen Xiang(From left to right in photo). Took this photo at Golden Mile Complex in the morning before we board the Grassland coach bus...

After nearly 8 hours of travelling on the bus, (with a few stops for lunch & toilet breaks) we finally reached Ipoh. Sister Maggie from Hope Ipoh came to fetch us using the white church van in the photo.

It was just a short 5min drive from where we alighted to Hope Ipoh church. It was located on the 2nd floor along a normal street of shophouses. (similar to our Little India street style)

Sister Maggie introduced herself and shared to us about the history of Hope Ipoh, and how a few of them managed to persevere until there were breakthroughs in the people coming to Hope... It was a encouraging time of sharing to everyone.
(The 'unique' experience in the church that day was none other than the swarming mosquitoes that seems to be everywhere, you will hear a slapping sound by someone in the midst of our conversations, trying to kill a mosquito... Haha!)

Following that night, we went to join their working adults' CG for dinner and meeting some of their visiting friends to share the gospel with them. It was a challenge for most of us as we were asked to share in mandarin! But thank God, I think everyone did try their best to share their personal experience with God to the visitors. Really prayed that in time to come, will be able to receive the good news of them to start their personal relationship with God! =)

(Group photo taken at the end of the session)

    DAY 2

The following day morning, we went to a nearby famous Tim Sum Restaurant from breakfast... Their services were quite efficient and interesting, the moment we sat down at our table, a bunch of the lady waitresses came in front of us, each carrying a large tray of dim sum, and they just started placing all the various dim sums on the table and asked if we want! Haha... Thus, the 'ordering' was done in a chop-chop manner and everyone started to enjoy the delicious breakfast!

(Yenling & Xingni in front of the dim sum restaurant...)

After having our breakfast, we went for a waterfall trip to Lata Kinjang Waterfall near Tapah. It took about 2 hours travelling on the van to reach the location. As it was a Friday morning, there wasn't any people there.. but usually the place will be crowded with people during weekends...

(Everyone climbing up the long flight of steps to reach the waterfall front.)

(the lower part of the waterfall...)

(taking photos in front of the waterfall...)

(Venturing to the nearer end of the waterfall... and taking more 'funny' photos from Yen Xiang's camera...)

After a wonderful time of playing with the water and sightseeing, we went back to Ipoh town for lunch. We came to another famous restaurant of Dao Gay Chicken & had another great meal...

After lunch, we went to the souvenir shop to buy some 土产, before we have a short tour around Ipoh town in our van, seeing some unique buildings like train station, library, etc... Finally, we went to their Ipoh old town to drink their local white coffee! =p

(Stunned by their Malaysia Elections' posters all over the streets!)

(Enjoying traditional white coffee in the coffee shop...)

    (Hongyao: White Coffee.... BAGUS!)

(Group photo with brother Ernest before we set off to the ministry house near Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS aka UTP...)

It was another 2 hours of travelling from Ipoh to Tronoh, before we eventually reached the ministry house.

And while waiting for the UTP brothers & sisters to come and help us open the ministry house, something very interesting happened. There was an ice-cream man driving slowly around the neighborhood, but what caught our attention was that instead of the usual 'ring-ring' sound we heard in Singapore, we heard a 'Paddlepop' ringtone coming out from his speaker! Haha... It amused us all and made us decided to wanna get an ice-cream each to eat... LOL...

    (Touring around the ministry house...)

(Interesting posters on the wall... Guess what does HUSC stands for?)

After settling down awhile in the ministry house, we went to have dinner at Kampung Bali nearby with the UTP brothers & sisters... We had a great time of ice-breaking game of remembering everybody's name before we started eating. And everyone just started to find out more about one another during dinner, it was a relaxing and refreshing time... =)

(Christon, Mei Le, Richard, Kuo Chun)

    (Xingni, Jasmine, Wang Ning, Yenling)

(Yenling, Manmi & Ruixia drinking the special '来一桶' drink!)

(Top left: Witton, Yenling, Manmi, Mei Le, Jasmine, Yen Pinng, Wang Ning, Ruixia, Xingni, Wenjiang, Richard, Javier, Kuo Chun, Christon, Hongyao, myself)

    DAY 3

Early in the next morning, sister Yen Pinng & Mei Fang came over to make lovely homemade sandwiches for our breakfast! So sweet!

(Everyone saying grace before having our breakfast and getting ready for the service later...)

We had our own small service that morning together with the UTPians in our ministry house. It was a great experience even though there were just about 20 of us. (Oh ya, we learnt a new praise song in Melayu! Cool!)

After the service, we continued to have lunch and fellowship. We also presented a little gift to the UTPians, a collection of a few interesting card games that can be found in Minds' Cafe, so that they can have good time of fellowship with one another and even for outreaching to their friends... (Indeed, we ourselves had a great time of fun playing them during that afternoon! Haha..)

(A last group photo in front of the ministry house before we leaving back to Ipoh to return Singapore...)

We have our 'last supper' at the Breeze Cafe in Ipoh town, where we had more fellowship and photo taking sessions... =p

(Vern, Xingni, Ruixia, Yen Pinng, Javier)

    (Yenling, Manmi, Hongyao)

    (Hongyao & myself)

(Playing the 'tiu-tiu' game before our order came... LOL...)

We departed Ipoh eventually at 9pm and returned back to Singapore at 6am. And that marks the end of our Short Term Mission-trip to Hope Ipoh...

What I shared above are purely the events that happened during the 3 days... But it didn't include my own personal reflections about this whole trip.. It was truly an enriching & fruitful trip for myself, and I have many thoughts about it which I shall not write in details here...
