    Semester 7...

It has been the 3rd week since sch reopen...

Below are the finalised modules I taking this sem:

    CS3342 - Interactive Media Development Project (8MC)
This is a compulsory module, and heavy workload consider its MC... But pray that the project will be fun and decent at the end. New project mates... =)

    CS3343 - Digital Media Production
This is a new CS module offered this sem, hence I am the 'pioneer' batch to be tested (or simply guinea pig). I taking it as an UE cos it seems interesting and something I will be comfortable with... (Afterall, it's just MM.. Haha!) Wish to score well for this. =)

    CS4243 - Computer Vision & Pattern Recognition
One of the level 4000 modules I choose to fulfill my degree requirements.. Looks scary for the content, but thank God the lecturer seems to be nice & friendly, hence so far it has been okay... Really hope that the maths part will be just a small part like what he claims... =p

CS5246 - Text Processing on the Web
One of the alternative level 4000 modules I was offered after failing to get my NM module.. This one will be really challenging for me as it's a graduate module & I didn't really meet the prerequite. But fortunately I was taught by the lecturer before for my AI module, which I am okay with his style of teaching. So pray that I can survive this module in the end... (Praying hard for this...)

This sem is definitely going to be overall challenging for myself, considering I need to balance the time between my studies & ministry, taking care of people while making sure that I myself is still well & alive...

Praying for More of Him, Less of me...
I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. [John12:24-25]
Praying for strength & wisdom to persevere in the things I want to do for Him...
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. [James1:12]
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [2Peter1:5-8]
Thank God for His grace & mercy once again... for He is worthy... Amen!

    Exam Period...

Yes... My 3rd yr 2nd semester has just officially ended last week... This week is the reading week before the exam period begins...

This semester I only have 3 exam papers as listed below:

    30-04-08 9am NM3880A Copyright & New Media
    05-05-08 9am CS4248 Natural Language Processing
    05-05-08 1pm GEM1004 Reason & Persuasion

I think this is considered one of the easier exam semester for me, considered the GEM is a MCQ paper & the other 2 are quite spread out...

Will be studying & staying over in NUS Engine classroom again as usual, but this time round, don't really need me to do guard duty... cos got quite a no. of people also staying... =p

Wanting to go through this exam period with God again & experience Him in a new way!

Recently kept being reminded by God about what it really takes to become Jesus' disciple... Thinking about the new CG, myself & the situation I was given... it serves as an important point which I want to hold on too...

Share the verses from Luke 14:25-35...

The Cost of Being a Disciple

Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'

"Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

"Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out.
"He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

    First day of semester...

OK... Officially started my semester today... Thank God I don't have any Monday blues... =)

Was quite thankful during my bidding as I was able to secure my Copyright & New Media module today! Which means I will be able to take it together with Jesse & Bowen...

As for my other module which I tried to bid, Reason & Persuasion, sad to say that there's just too many people out there trying to fight for the few places available... And with just the 600 bid points at hand, I can't do much...

So, ended up I decided to drop the idea of taking it as my Arts GEM, but taking it as a Philo module to clear my UE... Result in getting the module with just 1 points (20 people bidding for 147 places... DUH?)

There's still a slim chance for me to get it tml and wednesday, I will still try to see if i can bid for it, and I shall let God do the rest, if it's in His will for me to take it as Arts GEM, then He will definitely provide eventually... I shall just wait patiently...
Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." [James 4:13-15]

So now, tentatively the modules I am taking this semester will be:

CS3248 - Design of Interactive Media
CS4247 - Image Synthesis and Computer Animation
    CS4248 - Natural Language Processing
CS5245 - Vision and Graphics for Special Effects
    NM3880A - Copyright & New Media
    PH1101E - Reason & Persuasion

I shall decide again whether I am capable to manage 6 modules after attending the 1st 2 weeks of lectures, or if it's necessary for me to withdraw from 1 of them to prevent any chaos from happening this sem... =/

Oh, my time-table this semester is mainly in the afternoon till late evening (or nite), so I won't have much problem for being late for 1st morning lessons like previous sems... =p

So far so good... Looking forward to attend the rest of the lectures in the week!

    Another semester over!!!

Yes.... My Semester 5 officially ended today... Next week is reading week, after which will be my exams spreading across 2 weeks...

Sorry for not updating my blog with what's happening in my life... I must say alot of things happened all these while, beside dealing with school work & busy with rushing labs & project deadlines, I think I also experienced a lot of spiritual & emotional stuff too...

Well, I have to be honest that I haven been very diligent with my studies for this semester... And I have a slightly deeper understanding of the verse "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." [Proverbs 3:5-6]

I guess I shall share more in details after the exams ba... I'll also try to backtrack to update some interesting stuff that happened during the semester...

Something to look forward to: staying over in school to study for exams!

I think that has been the main motivation to cause me to wanna study, to be able to have support from one another during these rather stressful season... One good thing for this semester is my papers are scheduled in a spread way, unlike past bad experiences... Haha... In anyway, I shall seriously plan my revision schedule to make full use of all the time available...

    Below are my exam schedules...

27th Nov (Tue) 1pm CS3243 - Foundation of Artificial Intelligence
    30th Nov (Fri) 9am CS3240 - Human-Computer Interaction
    4th Dec (Tue) 5pm CS2105 - Computer Networks
    6th Dec (Thu) 9am CS4213 - Game Development

After that, it will be CHRISTMAS SEASON!! WOOHO!!! =)
